The blessed magic of this totem envelops the recipient like a blanket, insulating them from whatever forms of death may visit that night. Wandering beasts and demons are discouraged, poisons are neutralized, and arrows are turned away. Shrouded by this totem, the blessed may sleep soundly for just one night. Like all totems, this enchantment is potent yet short-lived; its power exhausted, the totem mysteriously vanishes as night falls.
The person granted the Totem of Protection is immune to all forms of death for that night.
If the player who received the Totem of Protection has not been targeted by any other players, there is little need to make note of their Totem. Keep in mind that the Witch can still target them with a Poison potion later that night; the Totem of Protection will prevent the Totem owner's death.

What happens when a Totem expires?
The Totem cards are shuffled back together at the beginning of the next Night Phase so the Shaman always has a full set of 7 Totems to work from.
